About us

Rainbow Hope Western Cape is a Registered Non-Profit Organisation.

We are a group of Registered Counsellors and Social Workers with the goal of improving the psychosocial, mental, and physical health and wellbeing of woman, children and all vulnerable groups such as the LGBTQIA+ community.

VISION:

 

Rainbow Hope Western Cape has a vision of building accepting communities, inclusive of all individuals; which is free of abuse (including bullying), discrimination, hate crimes, and gender-based violence (GBV). We strive to empower all woman and children whom have faced abuse through support, psychoeducation, networking, and counselling.

 

MISSION:

 

We are committed to service delivery in the form of counselling and intervention. Our service delivery will include information on (a) how to access appropriate clinics/ day hospitals, as well as the use of ART’s, (b) psychoeducational programs with various schools and communities within the Western Cape, and (c), work with SAPS Social Crime Department.

OUR OBJECTIVES

Our objectives are to:

- Act as a resource and support centre for counselling and intervention with our main theme being Victim Empowerment (VEP), focusing on: Gender-Based Violence (GBV), Domestic Violence (DV), Hate Crimes (HC), Intimate Partner Violence (IPV), Child Abandonment (CA), Trauma, Neglect, and HIV and AIDS.

- Our “community” will be Women, Children, and Vulnerable groups (such as: At-Risk-Youths, the Disabled, the Elderly, and the LGBTQIA+ Community).

- Focus on counselling and intervention for family preservation, family restoration, family reunification, strengthening of the family, self-sufficiency and independence.

- Assist in improving the structure of families’ that are, and have been, affected by violence and abuse (VEP, GBV, DC, HC, IPV, CA, Trauma, Neglect, and HIV and AIDS).

- Raise awareness in schools, educational/ academic institutions (such as universities or colleges) and other workplaces/ organisations by using all-inclusive interventions in terms of Victim Empowerment in conjunction with lgbtqia+ identity and empowerment.

- Improve access and direction to psychological and medical services (such as counselling or ART's).

- Enhance the mental well-being of our community affected by abuse (domestic violence and Gender-Based Violence) through psychoeducation, intervention / outreach programs.

- Food Security through nutritional meals for those of our community affected by abuse.

- Improve the psychosocial, mental, and physical health of our community in indigent areas (irrespective of age).
